![]() “Emery Mason.” Mom’s stern voice hissed from outside. There was a pounding on the roof, which was only an inch above my head. “I’m protesting Christmas.” I motioned to the walls of the cottage. “Break character? Never.” His blue eyes twinkled with annoying cheer. ![]() “Dad, would you please quit the Santa act already?” I groaned. This crimson monstrosity, brighter and tackier than Rudolph’s nose, had replaced my favorite Dark Side of the Moon tee, my purple plaid skirt, and black leggings. I rolled my eyes, giving my cherry-red romper a resentful tug. “Don’t you want to bring joy to lots of little girls and boys this Christmas, Emery Elf?” “What’s this I hear about a certain elf going on strike?” He winked. I was going to stay here until: (1) My parents gave in or (2) I turned eighteen and didn’t have to listen to them anymore.Ī red-cheeked Santa ducked his head through the tiny window. Then I scooted farther back into the plastic child-sized gingerbread cottage. I curled up my legs, blinding in their green-and-white-striped tights. ![]() ![]() Reportedly, Butler has taken out a lawsuit against the franchise's producers, Millenium Film and Nu Image. ![]() Updates surrounding Night Has Fallen have been few and far between, but news surrounding actor Gerard Butler's legal battles could mean more delays for the fourth installment. As a result, it's easy to understand why Night Has Fallen is likely to do well right out of the gate. ![]() Gerard Butler always gives a standout performance in a role that's tailor-made for him, and the films are ripe with tension. The movies are single-concept action flicks that tend to deliver on the "action" portion. In addition, the Gerard Butler action movie franchise provides a great action series for the actor. The Has Fallen box office numbers always seem to justify the studio's investment. While the Has Fallen movies usually open to mixed reviews and don't perform as well as other movies, they still bring in around triple their budgets, and the franchise is relatively cheap to make. The action/thriller series began with Olympus Has Fallen, and was only released slightly before a film with the same premise, White House Down – but the latter performed better at the box office, so why did Olympus Has Fallen end up becoming the franchise property? The reasons Olympus Has Fallen got a franchise but White House Down didn't include budgeting and overall content. ![]() ![]() ![]() The devilish pride that has led her into her present peril had left no mark on her countenance. At London’s Inns of Court, he mostly studied frivolity and wrote some “bold and ornery and intricate” poetry that “sounded like nobody else.” As Rundell reports, The Oxford English Dictionary records some 340 words he invented.
